“Hey! What’s new!?”
This is how we greet people when it’s been a while since we last saw them.
Notice how we don’t ask:
"What’s old?"
"Tell me what I already know."
We ask about what’s NEW because new is exciting!
This is exactly why, as business owners, we can’t afford to get comfortable.
The Real Social Media Pandemic
Social media is amazing for so many reasons. It’s easier than ever to connect with your audience, go viral, and reach the perfect customer. But…
BUT… There’s some downsides.
And the biggest one? ATTENTION SPANS.
TikTok BRAINS… People can’t focus for more than a few seconds, they get bored easily and struggle to focus on anything longer than 90 seconds.
Unfortunately as marketers, this affects us too. Our audience has shorter attention span.
With ads firing at them from every direction, how can anyone focus? It’s overwhelming.
How Do We Fix This?
Don’t worry, you don’t have do to any white girl tiktok dances…
There’s a better solution.
How to Keep Your Audience Engaged
The key to combating the short attention span isn’t to just create bite-sized content.
It’s about offering your audience variety.
Instead of just one video, give them ten.
Instead of one blog post, give them a hundred.
Instead of one tweet, give them a thousand.
If your audience is genuinely interested, they’ll dive deep into your content. They’ll go through everything you have to offer. But only if there’s enough variety to keep them coming back.
You can’t just serve them one thing. Give them a buffet.
So if you’re running just one ad right now, it’s time to up that to at least three.
If you’ve got one video for your retargeting campaign, it’s time to add five to ten more.
Get out there and provide value with your content.
